Nothing wrong with education but people shouldn't think that being educated guarantees them a pass to the good life, you know?

No... it does guarantee me a pass to the good life. Just not happiness. That's how I understand it. I'll find happiness in a hobby, or by going out. I can't always find happiness in school...

As Prince said: Money don't buy you happiness, but it will pay for the search...

My mom was the same way about school. I had NO IDEA that people didn't go to college right after high school and then go on to get jobs.

People still drop out of high school? What you talkin' bout Willis?! Seriously, call it naive or moving through life with blinders on, or whatever... but that's where I was.

So to read anybody suggesting that education is not the answer BOTHERS me. Somebody please point to me a non-educated successful person. And if you choose an athlete, I'll pop you in the nose.

I thought that my Mom was the only one handing down book report assignments every week of the summer. LOL. My parents were also the same about school. Not only was I expected to bring home straight A's and graduate college, I was also expected to get a master's. I had no idea that people didn't graduate high school until 12th grade. In this world, as a minority, the only job you're gonna get with a GED involves wearing a cardboard hat or hot dog costume.
